A new kind of festival is arriving in Somerset this July — and it’s setting itself apart from the usual summer circuit.
Fire In Your Soul, taking place from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July, is not built around big-name headliners or all-night raves. Instead, it’s offering something more stripped back: a weekend focused on wellness, connection, and intentional experiences, set in a secluded woodland near Chew Valley Lake – a place that genuinely feels worlds away without being hard to reach. This isn’t your typical festival fare — you won’t find mass crowds, but what you will find is something more intimate, more honest and arguably, more needed than ever.
The aim? To create space — physically and mentally — for people to slow down.

Ritual Over Rave: A Thoughtful Music Line-up
Music is still central to the event, but not in the typical festival sense. Instead of packed stages and pumping basslines, the performances here are being framed as rituals — immersive, meaningful, and designed to be listened to as much as felt.
The line-up includes Madame Gandhi, the LA-based artist and activist whose percussive electronic sets focus on themes of feminism and sustainability. There’s also UK based Natural Symphony, a project that uses biofeedback from plants to generate live sound installations, and Bristol’s ever-immersive peoplelikeusdj, who turns a DJ set into something far more mind-body connected than your average night out.
There’s a quiet sense that every note here has been curated with purpose. That nothing’s just for show.
Nature as Venue — and Co-Curator
This is a festival where the surroundings are not just scenic – they’re central. Everything’s designed to help you slow down and actually connect, in a location that feels remote without being inaccessible. Events are designed to work with the environment, not against it — think forest breathwork, lakeside yoga, ice baths, and sound healing.
An additional highlight is the EarthSonic panel, a discussion bringing together scientists and musicians to explore how data from the climate crisis can be transformed into emotive soundscapes. It’s an example of the event’s interest in blending art, science and activism, without veering into the didactic.
A Focus on Sustainability — and Space
At Fire In Your Soul, you’re not crammed in – you’re held. There’s room to roam, to rest, to gather round the fire with food that honours the land it comes from. Zero-waste meals. Poetry under the stars. Tipis and “land yachts” that are as magical as they sound.
There’s also a focus on wellbeing, with everything from deep-tissue massage, the poetry machine, or just the chance to catch your breath between life’s business. The whole weekend feels like an open invitation to come back to yourself. No ego, no gimmicks.
Tickets and Practical Info
Tickets are on sale now, starting at £99 for a full weekend pass. Additional sessions, including wellness treatments and premium workshops, will be bookable from the end of May. For more details, visit fireinyoursoul.co.uk.
If the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that connection – real, rooted connection – is everything. Fire In Your Soul is a chance to find it again, in the woods, by the lake, beside the fire.
This isn’t just another weekend away. It’s a return.
