Square Enix has confirmed the release date for the Final Fantasy VII remake. First announced to be in development in 2015, the game will bring the classic story to current-gen consoles, with updated visuals and music.
The announcement came as a special surprise for the audience of a special Final Fantasy concert in Los Angeles, with a release date of March 3, 2020 announced. It is unclear if this is for the complete game or just the first episode since the developer announced plans to release the game episodically in the past. Square Enix later announced that more details would be coming during their E3 presentation.
Final Fantasy VII is scheduled to be released exclusively on PlayStation 4 on March 3 2020. Watch the new trailer below.
