A teaser trailer has been released for the spin-off show to the award-winning series of The Boys. Gen V, set to release September 29th of this year, follows from the end of season three of The Boys

The trailer revealed that our main character in the show is a black female, known as Marie Moreau, who is said to potentially be “the first top-ranked freshman in history.” Or, as Marie puts it, the “first black woman in The Seven.” Her powers seemed to focus on the use of blood and blood-bending and can be seen in a scene in which she destroys the objects around her. Other powers that were seen in the trailer were shapeshifting, telekinesis, laser eyes, super strength and shrinking powers.

The trailer also revealed the main story behind this series, seeing Marie’s journey throughout Godolkin University, which produces young, high-ranked superheroes. We were shown that Marie would have fellow students hunting for her head due to her extraordinary talent. However, she does not face them alone. She can be seen with other students fighting on her side; their names yet to be revealed.

One scene also potentially highlighted how Marie could find out the darkness behind the superhero world as she later states, “Everything is f****d.” We were all pretty certain this series cannot come without a few drops of blood being spilt, anyway.

As with The Boys, it was clear to see from the trailer that Gen V will follow in the footsteps of its parent show, with high levels of blood, sex and gore. The trailer reveals part of this gore already; with one clip showing a fist going through a police officer’s mouth and another with a head being ripped off.

Fans of The Boys will be able to spot some familiar faces in the trailer, too, with the likes of A-Train and Homelander making an appearance.

Gen V will premiere in September. In the meantime, all three seasons of The Boys are available to stream on Amazon Prime.
