Indiana Jones and the Great Circle emerged as the standout winner at the 17th annual Nordic Game Awards, held during the spring edition of the Nordic Game conference in Malmö, Sweden. The critically acclaimed first-person action-adventure title, developed by Sweden’s MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks, secured two of the evening’s highest accolades: Nordic Game of the Year and Best Audio, making it the only game to win multiple categories.
Hosted by voice actor and streamer Matilda Smedius, renowned for her voice as Brigitte in Overwatch, the ceremony spotlighted excellence in game development across the Nordic region. The event, presented by the Nordic Game Institute in partnership with AMD and PR Nordic, brought together leading talent from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland.
Already boasting over four million players and previously recognised at the 2025 DICE Awards, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle continues to build momentum ahead of its highly anticipated story DLC, The Order of Giants.
Swedish studios dominated this year’s awards, securing five of the eight categories. Simogo’s stylish puzzle thriller Lorelei and the Laser Eyes claimed Best Game Design, while Mouthwashing, an unsettling indie debut by Wrong Organ, was awarded Best Debut. Coffee Stain Studios’ factory simulator Satisfactory received Best Technology, rounding out Sweden’s sweep.
Elsewhere, Norwegian developers had a strong showing, with The Holy Gosh Darn by Perfectly Paranormal taking home Best Small Screen Game, and Hyper Games’ Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley winning Best Fun for Everyone. Denmark also made its mark, with Miniatures by Other Tales Interactive recognised for Best Art.
Now in its 17th year, the Nordic Game Awards continues to serve as a vital platform spotlighting innovation and creativity in one of the world’s most vibrant game development communities. For the full list of nominees and more on the Nordic Game Awards 2025, visit the official site.
