My Life In Books: Rosie Coleman Collier

Great Expectations // Charles Dickens

This book always reminds me of Christmas time. There’s something about being curled up on the sofa by a fire, with a duvet, submerging yourself in Dickens’ cobbled streets of London. I felt empathy and understanding for Pip as he attempts to fit into a society completely alien to him, and was drawn in by his development from childhood to adulthood. It’s a novel about social class, growing up and education, and it’s a novel that will stay with you after you’ve read it once.
