Microsoft has confirmed that they will be returning to the Tokyo Game Show this month with a special broadcast event.

The announcement was made on Xbox Wire, which revealed that there will be a broadcast from the convention on Thursday, September 26th, which will take place at 11am UK / 7pm JST / 3am Pacific / 6am Eastern.

According to Larissa Hazel, Director of Gaming Integrated Marketing in the APAC region, content will be shared from developers and publishers like Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, and Bethesda. There will also be a line-up of third-party games that are mostly based in Asia.

The broadcast will be available to watch on the Tokyo Game Show’s official YouTube channel. In keeping with tradition, Xbox will feature a new logo for the Tokyo Game Show, as they have done each year. This year’s logo showcases the Xbox Nexus, a Japanese player and a black cat.

Despite this development, there has not only been good news for the company in Japan, with Microsoft closing its Japanese videogame developer Tango Gameworks in June of this year. The move came just over three years after the company was acquired by Microsoft, and occurred while over 1,900 Microsoft employees were laid off.
