Car wash sales are about to skyrocket through the roof after the release of the music visuals for Tyla’s, full name Tyla Seethal, latest hit.

The Johannesburg star opens the video with a statement necklace sporting a large tooth, tassel crop top, denim bejewelled mini shorts and Riri sandals inspired by Barbados icon Rihanna. Tyla and her dancers are comfortably surrounded by an assortment of flashy and fancy cars as they show audiences how multitasking is done; dancing and scrubbing motors at the same time.

As she sings “Pushing on my buttons with no hesitation” in front of a giant rotating fan with the support of her dance troupe, music lovers can’t help but think of another piece of music video history, ‘Crazy in Love’ by legendary artist Beyoncé. This very part of the ‘PUSH 2 START’ video mirrors the iconic noughties hit where the singer struts her stuff with her crew while flaunting a mix of fluorescent oranges, pinks and greens. Tyla’s colour scheme may be more muted and earth-toned but the sass and femininity are still in full swing much like that in Bey’s video.

From Rihanna to Beyoncé it’s safe to say Tyla is clued up and educated on her pop music history and is striving to put her own stamp on the current music scene. For the closing chorus of the single, Tyla, has her own main character moment performing a dance break on a flatbed trailer while covered from head to toe in sunkissed red, yellow, blue and purple body paint.

Sonically, Seethal sticks to her standard format which she is known and loved for, the singer takes her amapiano sound and merges it with an easy-listening pop melody now known as ‘Popiano’. Tyla has elevated this sound to new heights and this new video has aligned with the release of her deluxe album ‘TYLA+’, which features this song and two more appealing tracks.

Aerin Morino directed the latest visual music instalment breaking her three-video run with American-Australian director Nabil. Morino is well respected with Tinashe, Madison Beer and Tate McRae already in her directorial portfolio.

It’s clear the South African star couldn’t leave the music video set behind bringing the same car to the MTV EMA stage in Manchester on Sunday night for a miraculous medley performance of this very single and her global smash hit ‘Water’.
