Daudi Matsiko is a unique singer-songwriter who has recently released his EP The Lingering Effects of Disconnection. Music has served as a therapeutic outlet, comforting him through the troubles life had thrown his way, and leading to the development of his sincere and heartfelt musical style. Aside from regularly busking in and around Nottingham, he has toured with Portico in Sheffield, Manchester and London.

‘Take Me Old’ is a delicate song that speaks of a love transcending old age as seen in the lyrics – “I may forget faces, names, our favourite memories, but know my heart is full”.

Receiving support from BBC 6 Music’s Gilles Peterson as well as BBC Introducing, Daudi’s beautiful hushed tones are central to the track, wrapped up in layers of soulful, folky guitar and later joined by a piano chord sequence that drips with emotion.
