The pantomime season is well and truly upon us and the London theatre scene has been no exception. This article will let you know all the best pantomimes that you can see in London this Christmas season. Whether you want to see a retelling of a classic or a brand-new original production, there is something for everyone.

Robin Hood at The London Palladium | 7 December – 12 January

The Palladium Panto is returning for its ninth year. This year’s production will star national treasure Jane McDonald as Maid Marion and actor and presenter, Julian Clary as Robin Hood. From the team that brought you the last eight years of spectacular pantomimes, get ready for a West End production like no other! With dazzling sets and costumes, side-splitting comedy, and jaw-dropping special effects, Robin Hood promises an unforgettable night of merriment and adventure. Catch Robin Hood at the iconic London Palladium from 7 December to 12 January.

Dick Whittington and his Cat at The Hackney Empire | 12 December- 5 January

The Pantomime season is back at the Hackney Empire for the 25th year in a row. This year’s production will be an all-new version of the classic tale of Dick Whittington and his Cat, starring Clive Rowe. The panto, inspired by the old English folklore of Richard Whittington, will recount the legendary tale of his journey from a poverty-stricken childhood to prosperity, thanks to the fortune he earned through the sale of his cat. All ages are welcome and children under 4 can go for free! Get ready for a joyful reimagining of this classic rags to riches tale, featuring all your favourite pantomime gimmicks and gags.

Pinocchio at the Theatre Royal Stratford East | 23 November- 4 January

Another reimagined classic is hitting the stage this pantomime season. The story of Pinocchio began back in 1883 in the original fantasy novel by Carlo Collido. Since then, the story has been retold numerous times, including the Disney classic that was released in 1940. The pantomime production will star Dylan Collymore as Pinocchio and Tok Marakinyo as Geppetto. Tickets are limited so make sure to grab your tickets to this fun-filled show.

Aladdin at Lyric Hammersmith | 16 November – 5 January

Make sure to hop on a magic carpet ride and join Aladdin and Jasmine in this reimagined classic. Written by Sonia Jalaly, this production will star Andre Antonio and Aleyna Mohanraj as Aladdin and Jasmine. This will be the 15th annual pantomime production at the Hammersmith Lyric, but this will be the first time Aladdin is flying onto the stage. Tickets start at £10 and are selling fast, so make sure to get yours while you still can!

Beauty and the Beast at Richmond Theatre | 7 December – 5 January

Renowned actress Dame Maureen Lipman makes her return to Richmond to star as Mrs. Potty in this delightful pantomime adventure, joined by comedy magician Pete Firman, who takes on the role of Silly Billy. Luke McCall, acclaimed for his performances in West End hits like Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera, takes on the role of Prince Sebastian / The Beast. Joining him are Jason Leigh Winter, known for Moulin Rouge! as Flash Harry, and Cherece Richards, fresh from Shrek the Musical UK & Ireland Tour, as The Enchantress. Tickets start at £13.

Jack and the Beanstalk at the New Wimbledon Theatre

Starring Alexandra Burke and Joe Pasquale, this star-studded rendition of Jack and the Beanstalk is ready to take the Wimbledon stage by storm. Follow Jack and his family on an epic adventure as they’re forced to sell their beloved cow and take on the challenge of outsmarting an evil giant. Packed with laughs, music, dazzling special effects, magic beans, and plenty of audience participation, this larger-than-life pantomime promises riches, romance, and unforgettable fun!

With so many spectacular productions to choose from, London’s pantomime season is the perfect way to add a sprinkle of magic, laughter, and festive cheer to your holiday celebrations!
