The nominations for The Game Awards 2022 have been announced. In a special presentation, hosted by Geoff Keighley, the shortlist for each category was announced ahead of The Game Awards ceremony on December 8.

Leading this year’s field was God of War Ragnarök with 10 nominations, including Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music for Bear McCreary and Best Performance nominations for both Christopher Judge (Kratos) and Sunny Suljic (Atreus).

Other games picking up multiple nominations include Immortality, Horizon Forbidden West, Sifu, Stray and Elden Ring. This year’s awards also include a new category – Best Adaptation – which will celebrate the best in video game adaptation for film and television.

In the prestigious Game of the Year category, six games will battle it out for the coveted prize – A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarök, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

The Game Awards celebrate achievement in all aspects of the gaming industry. They also look to the future of gaming with the Future Class – a group of individuals making their mark at the early stages of their gaming career. More details on the Future Class of 2022 will be announced in December.
