With summer on the horizon, there is a lot to look forward to with June’s gaming releases. From new twists on old worlds, a chance to see what might have been, unlocking secrets of the past and taking that long-awaited step on the beach, this month also sees the much-anticipated launch of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo Switch 2

The next evolution of Nintendo Switch arrives with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. With a 7.9-inch touchscreen and a resolution ranging from 1080p in handheld mode to 4K (with HDR) in docked mode, the Switch 2 will bring games to life with brilliant clarity and smooth gameplay. Playing with friends is as seamless as ever with Nintendo Switch Online, two Joy-Con 2 and the introduction of GameChat – where players will be able to chat with friends with just a touch of a button.

With launch day titles including Mario Kart World – which is available with the Switch 2 as a bundle via select retailers – Street Fighter 6, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Cyberpunk 2077, Split Fiction, Sonic x Shadow Generation and a wide range of accessories and peripherals including extra Joy-Con, Pro controllers, USB cameras, microSD Express cards, racing wheels and Joy-Con charging grip players will be ready to kick off their playtime how they want.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will be available worldwide from June 5*

Dune: Awakening

Step into a new but familiar land in this story from the world of Dune. Starting out as a prisoner transferred to Arrakis, players forge their own path in this new world. But while the world might look the same, some key differences can be explored depending on player choices. But this is only part of the story, as players will also have to navigate everyday life on the harsh desert planet – from Sandworms to Sardurkar to deciding who to trust and where your loyalties are at the same time as harvesting spice and gathering materials to build a home for yourself on Arakis and discovering more about your own character in this new world.

Players who pre-order will unlock the Sunset Dye global swatch and Terrarium of Muad’Dib for their home base. Players who download and play the Character Creator & Benchmark mode will also receive a code for the Frameblade knife skin. The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, Head Start allowing access from June 5*, the Season Pass (which includes four post-launch DLCs) and Sardaukar Bator Armour. The Ultimate Edition includes the base game, all the content in the Deluxe Edition, digital artbook, digital soundtrack, Dusk Rider Sandbike swatch, Blue Dasher Ornithopter swatch, Caladan Palace Building set and Stillsuit inspired by the 2021 film Dune.

Dune: Awakening will be available on PC from June 10*

MindsEye

Take a glimpse into the future with this narrative-driven adventure. Set in the desert metropolis of Redrock, Mindseye follows Jacob Diaz, a former soldier looking for answers about his past and the mysterious neural MindsEye implant in his brain. Dealing with blackouts and fragmented memories, Jacob’s path is not an easy one, but there is hope with Redrock’s advanced technology and AI power. But Jacob soon finds himself caught in the crossfire of a whole different conflict between two of Redrock’s elite – the City’s power-hungry mayor, Shiva Vega, and the eccentric Marco Silva, the head of Silva Industries – and their opposing views on what the city’s future should be.

Players who pre-order will receive a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition. This edition includes the base game, the Deluxe Thron & Kepler Yellowjacket weapon, Future Skin pack with three bonus skins and the Premium Pass – which consists of the Horde Mode mission, Exotic Skin Pack and access to three post launch packs (to be released between Q3 2025 and Q1 2026) featuring extra missions and challenges.

MindsEye will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC from June 10*

The Alters

Success is a team effort in this survival game with a twist. In The Alters, players are Jan Dolski, the lone survivor of an expedition that crash-landed on a hostile planet. His only hope of survival now lies in his ability to create Alters – alternative versions of himself who made different life choices and decisions at points in their lives. Using a material known as Rapidium, each Alter will have their own skill set, narratives and interactions to explore. But there may not be too much time to chat, as the nearby sun’s radiation will destroy Jan and the base if they stay in one place too long, so every mission is a race against time.

With one second of real-world time equivalent to one minute in the game, players will have to make every moment count both inside and outside their base. Along with the base building and survival, players will also need to ensure that none of the Alters are left unattended, as this could lead to lasting consequences for Jan and his survival on the planet.

The Alters will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC from June 13*

TRON: Catalyst

The Grid is under threat in this new adventure in the world of TRON. For TRON: Catalyst, it is all about the Glitch, a mysterious power that grants users the ability to see beyond the surface of the Grid and be able to roll back the clock to uncover hidden secrets. One of those users is Exo, a courier in the Grid’s capital, who is in the middle of a job when the package explodes, granting them the Glitch. With this new power, Exo will be able to step up and fight for programs like her who are being taken advantage of by the system – that is, if she can survive long enough to evade the Grid’s guards and the mysterious Conn, who has his own plans for Exo.

Serving as a sequel to TRON: Identity, TRON: Catalyst will allow players to explore the Grid in new ways with Exo’s growing powers. Travelling on foot or by light cycle blending ranged and melee combat with Identity Discs, encountering factions and maybe forging an alliance or two, players must plan ahead if they want to have any hope of stabilising the Arq Grid before the whole world burns around them and all is lost forever.

TRON: Catalyst will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC from June 17*

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach

Go beyond the UCA in this highly anticipated sequel. Set 11 months after the events of the first game, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach rejoins Sam Bridges as he lives a quiet life with Lou. After receiving a request from Fragile, Sam boards the DHV Magellan – the mobile base of Drawbridge, a civilian group founded by Fragile – and travels to Mexico. While there, he becomes embroiled in an incident that takes him far from home shores, and once again, he finds himself trying to help a fractured society reconnect and expand the work of the Chiral Network to facilitate more open communication across the world.

Players who pre-order will receive three Skeletons – Battle, Boost and Bokka – for levels 1, 2 and 3, along with a custom Quokka hologram. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, 48 hours of Early Access, Machine Gun [MP Lv1] early unlock, three patches (Quokka, Chiral Cat & Why Me?) and Gold Lv1-3 Boost, Battle and Bokka Skeletons. The Collector’s Edition includes the base game, all the content in the Digital Deluxe Edition, 48 hours of Early Access, a 3” Dollman figurine, art cards, a 15” Magellan Man statue and a letter from Hideo Kojima.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will be available on PlayStation 5 from June 26*
