Theatr Clwyd Announces Low-Cost Online Events

Celebrated Welsh arts centre Theatr Clwyd have announced that they will be playing host to various upcoming free and low-cost online events.

The theatre’s free offerings include two live play readings, with popular series The Secret Show returning as The Secret Stream, along with British-Jamaican storyteller Jan Blake’s performance of The Zebu

An impressive comedy line-up is also promised, with upcoming performers including Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Daliso Chaponda, and Live At The Apollo headliner Brennan Reece. Tickets for both performances are £10 each.

Theatr Clwyd have also arranged several high-profile Q&As. Among these are the Emmy Award-winning Richard Schiff, star of The West Wing. He will be available for viewers’ questions in February, followed by a similar session in March featuring EastEnders alumnus Tamzin Outhwaite. Both livestreams will be free of charge to attend.

Also on the programme is the award-winning Welsh poet Mererid Hopwood, who will be performing some of her favourite readings on 4 March free of charge.

Theatr Clwyd’s Artistic Director Tamara Harvey said in a statement that she hoped the new events “will play a small part in supporting our communities and audiences through these difficult times. The wealth of Welsh, UK and international talent we’re showcasing makes me feel incredibly proud and excited for what the future holds.”

Tickets for the online events will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis, and can be booked online on the theatre’s website
