Dropping in line with his fifth album, aptly named 5ive, Davido is offa-ring us another insight into this already stacked project.

The Nigerian-American star’s new project features some impressive talent like Becky G, Shenseea, YG Marley and now he shares the album’s latest single with R&B goddess, Victoria Monét.

Monét wastes no time introducing herself, straight away flaunting her untouchable songwriting and dreamscape vocal delivery. Just like the “heaven-sent” line on 2023 hit ‘On My Mama’, this slick songwriter is back to her usual tricks using her mastered art of double entendres in this new link-up remarking, “I been thinking I want you to come take this offa me” instantly following it with, “Come and show me what it is you got to offer me”.

Now to the man leading this song’s credits, Davido, who knows how to syncopate his voice to fit in place like a jigsaw piece. Lines like “All through the night I’ve been thinking of” right before a drum hit highlights his precision and ability to pair his voice immaculately with all the mechanisms of the song’s instrumental.

The drum patterns and guitar melodies are irresistible like the electronic, stints and plucks that introduce the song and run throughout. Monét’s intonation in the chorus is an earworm that keeps listeners crawling back for more too.

Here’s to our new favourite duo Davido and VMo, it’s already got a ring to it.
