Thrillhouse released their debut song ‘One of These Days’ earlier this month. It has got exposure from John Kennedy on Radio X and listening to it, you can see why they’re tipped for big things.
Throughout its five and a half minutes, a funky bassline dominates the track. It works well because it’s an instant earworm. There are a lot of ear-catching loops that are present, including a guitar loop from the Garageband soundbank. They tie in with the lyrics, which are about childhood innocence. These types of songs are brilliant because you can tell the band had a lot of fun making it.
‘One of These Days’ has longevity and staying power. Its carefree nature is addictive and positive because listening to it makes you feel really excited. Every element is so tight, and it will be interesting to see what Thrillhouse will come out with in the future.
