BARENAKED LADIES – It’s All Been Done

Thanks to a slew of successful sitcoms, Canadian alt rockers BNL have endured a lasting legacy, but in the UK they didn’t really get a proper crack at the whip until the satirical raps of ‘One Week’. Keeping such lofty momentum proved difficult, but ‘It’s All Been Done’ gave it a good go, a jangle-pop rocker with just enough bare-naked mischief and an intriguing video. The raps would return for ‘Pinch Me’ but by then it was too little, too late.

UK chart placing: 28 Indiependent rating: 7/10

Good or bad: To those who fell in love with ‘One Week’, the straight-ahead REM-esque follow-up would prove a bland disappointment. It does still have an irresistible chorus, however.
