Album: Adore Life

Artist: Savages

Release: January 22

Savages’ Adore Life was a mould-breaker. It broke the band out of the small punk circle that they had gained following 2013’s Silence Yourself and brought them attention from mainstream music press and media.  Adore Life also gained a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize. It’s a storming, furious album that is the antithesis of every boring stoner album. It’s the ultimate alternative album of 2016, unafraid of being unhappy and frustrated. It’s the album most in tune with the times: filled with unhappiness, uncertainty, frustration and pique. For that reason, Adore Life is one of our albums of the year.
