Get ready to practise your jump splits, America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is returning for a third series in 2026.
Following the huge success of season two, which premiered in June 2025, and a recent Emmy Award nomination, Netflix’s reality television hit will shine a spotlight on the world’s most famous cheerleading squad again.
The show has been a breakout success for Netflix, debuting in the global Top 10 English language TV chart and trending across 19 countries. Viewers have avidly followed the journey of the auditioning hopefuls, vying to become America’s sweethearts. From auditions to training camp, the aspiring cheerleaders battle the rising tensions to nab one of the coveted 36 spots, all under the watchful eyes of Senior Director Kelli Finglass and Head Choreographer Judy Trammell.
Behind the showmanship of the signature star-spangled uniforms, the series does not shy away from the sacrifices these women make. From juggling jobs and studies to make rehearsals, the physical and financial toll of remaining on the team becomes a focal point. By the end of season two, some of the cheerleaders finish the season with crutches in arms, instead of their pompoms.
The excitement of the show has been fueled by the individual successes of the cheerleaders, becoming reality stars in their own right. Viral renditions of the iconic ‘Thunderstruck’ dance became a viral trend on TikTok, with the dance recreated everywhere from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to the F1 American Grand Prix. The glitz and glamour remains a selling point throughout, with beauty giant Charlotte Tilbury partnering up with the growing Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders brand to supply the makeup and skincare for the 2025-2026 season.
Season three will undoubtedly see the cheerleaders tested with the growing fame of the team. After tense negotiations captured thoroughly throughout season two, the squad secured a 400% pay rise, a shift which will no doubt shape the course of the series.
With the Dallas Cowboys’ preparing for their awaited NFL season opener on September 4, the new series of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will see the cheerleaders centre stage once again in 2026.
