1984

It’s that time of year again, where days get shorter, leaves start falling and there’s a Christmas cheer in the air. And with this, the ‘of the year’ lists start making their way out of the woodwork. So we decided to join in on the fun.

This year’s treasure trove of albums has been something special. From Beyoncé’s Lemonade to Blossoms’ self-titled debut we’ve had a hell of a year! Our ears have certainly had a treat, so much so that narrowing this year’s wave of albums was almost impossible, but, we managed it.

So sit back, relax and enjoy part one of our Albums of the Year.

p.s. don’t forget to check out part two and our top five!

Album: Death Of A Batchelor

Artist: Panic! At The Disco

Released: January 15

Hitting the shelves right at the start of 2016, Death Of A Batchelor jump started our year in spectacular fashion. With only one founding member still remaining, Brendon Urie was able to let his theatrical songwriting mind loose. Bringing an even more operatic feel to his already exaggerated lyricism, tracks like Victorious can only be described as showboating at its finest. With this it’s no surprise Death Of A Batchelor is still nestled deep in our minds almost a year on.
