Netflix has announced the release dates of Bridgerton season four ahead of its 2026 launch.

Period drama fans can expect the Regency-era romance series to debut in two parts. Part one is due to be released on 29 January and part two is expected to be on the 26 February.

The smash hit show produced by Shondaland is based on author Julia Quinn’s book series of the same name. The books and the TV show follow the romantic adventures of the aristocratic Bridgerton family in Regency England.

Bridgerton is one of Netflix’s most popular series to date. It has broken numerous Netflix viewership records with an estimated 45 million viewers watching the third season’s first four episodes in 2024. The series has received critical praise for its engaging narratives, compelling leads, and its focus on diverse representation.

Season four will mirror the plot of the third instalment of the Bridgerton book series, An Offer From a Gentleman. It will follow the Cinderella-inspired love story of the second oldest Bridgerton son Benedict (Luke Thompson) and maid Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).

This storyline follows the conclusion of the third season that saw the identity of the mysterious gossip writer Lady Whistledown unmasked publicly as Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and the resolution of Penelope and Colin Bridgerton’s slow-burn friends-to-lovers love story.

Fatigued by romance, Benedict is not interested in pursuing true love when he meets the mysterious ‘Lady in Silver’ at his mother’s masquerade ball. Unbeknownst to Benedict, Sophie is hiding a scandalous secret. Bridgerton has continued in its proud tradition of inclusion and diversity by making Sophie’s character of Korean descent to reflect the actress’s cultural identity.

The majority of the cast is expected to return including Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Bridgerton), Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton) and Simone Ashley (Kate Bridgerton). It has also been revealed three new characters will be introduced into the cast: Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung) as Sophie’s stepmother and Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao) and Posy Li (Isabella Wei) as Sophie’s stepsisters.

Netflix have also announced Bridgerton‘s renewal for a fifth and sixth season.

Romance enthusiasts can enjoy Bridgerton season four in early 2026, and in the meantime, revisit your favourite love stories from seasons one to three on Netflix now.
