In celebration of Waitress the Musical’s 10 year anniversary, Carrie Hope Fletcher will star as Jenna in the UK and Ireland tour of Waitress starting in March 2026.
This tour will be the first time the musical Waitress has been performed in the UK since 2021. Performances will commence on 28 March at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London and the tour will run for seven months, ending on 31 October at the Lowry in Salford. Fletcher is only confirmed to be performing until 13 June, finishing her limited run at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
Waitress is a musical written by singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles that debuted on Broadway in 2016 and ran up until January 2020. The musical was originally adapted from the 2007 indie film of the same name, written by Adrienne Shelley. The show tells the story of Jenna, a small-town waitress and expert pie baker who dreams of a better life until an unexpected pregnancy and romance turns her world upside-down. The musical is full of heart-felt and emotional moments, exploring themes of love, self-discovery, and empowerment that resonate deeply with audiences.
Fletcher is an actress, author and vlogger that has been performing on the West End since she was a child. She made her West End debut as young Eponine in a production of Les Misérables in 2001 and has since gone on to give excellent performances in numerous shows across the UK. Most recently she has had leading roles in musicals including Bad Cinderella, Calamity Jane and Once. For the upcoming Christmas season, she is currently set to star as Jovie in Elf the Musical opposite her real-life husband Joel Montague. This tour will be Fletcher’s first ever time in the role of Jenna or working with the musical.
Tickets are already available for some of the earlier dates of this tour, with some being released periodically throughout the remainder of the year. Buy tickets at the official Waitress the Musical UK Tour site.
