The winners of the 43rd Golden Joystick Awards have been announced. Celebrating the best games over the past 12 months, this year’s event was hosted by Maggie Robertson – best known for her acclaimed performances in Resident Evil Village and Baldur’s Gate 3 – and broadcast live across social media and streaming platforms.
The biggest winner of the night was Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with seven awards, including wins in both Performance categories for Jennifer English (Lead Performance) and Ben Starr (Supporting Performance), Best Storytelling and the night’s top honour of Ultimate Game of the Year.
Also among the winners were Ghost of Yotei, which was named Console Game of the Year, Blue Prince (Best Indie Game) and Hollow Knight Silksong (PC Game of the Year), with Arcane winning the prize for Best Game Adaptation for their second season, and Donkey Kong Bananza was named the winner of the Critics’ Choice Award.
The new award of Best Remake/Remaster was awarded to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, while Peak was named Streamers’ Choice. To mark their 25th anniversary, The Sims franchise was officially inducted into the Golden Joystick Hall of Fame.
Looking forward to the future, R.E.P.O. was voted as the Best Early Access Game and Grand Theft Auto VI was named as the Most Wanted Game by voters for the second year.
