HBO has officially released the first teaser and images for the highly anticipated third season of its Emmy-winning drama Euphoria, confirming the series will return in April 2026. The reveal comes nearly four years after the explosive season two finale in 2022, reigniting excitement among fans who have eagerly awaited the show’s next chapter.

The newly released teaser signals a bold evolution for the series, opening on familiar faces now living very different lives. Once defined as troubled teenagers navigating high school in California, the characters of Euphoria are reintroduced as young adults, following a five-year time jump that reshapes the emotional and gripping landscape of the show.

The teaser is anchored by Rue Bennett’s haunting voiceover, “I don’t know if life was exactly what I wished”, a line that immediately raises questions about where the character and the rest of the ensemble now stand.

Series creator Sam Levinson has teased that season three may be the show’s strongest yet, telling Variety that the upcoming season has the potential to be “the best so far”. While details remain tightly guarded, Levinson has shared new insights into where the characters’ journeys will lead.

After her devastating struggle with addiction in season two, Rue (Zendaya) is no longer in California. Season three finds her in Mexico, embarking on a quest to clear a debt.

The ensemble cast equally returns with strikingly altered lives. Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) are still together, now engaged and living in the suburbs. Cassie has developed an addiction to social media and finds herself consumed by envy as she watches the lives of her former classmates.

Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer) is attending art school, pursuing painting while actively avoiding responsibility and emotional accountability. Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie) has relocated to Los Angeles, working at a Hollywood talent agency. Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow) is working as an assistant to a showrunner.

Alongside the returning ensemble, Euphoria season three will introduce several notable new cast members, including Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and Eli Roth.

Season three will also mark the absence of several key characters. The late Angus Cloud (Fezco) will not appear following his tragic passing. Other cast members not returning include Barbie Ferreira (Kat), Storm Reid (Gia), Nika King (Leslie), Algee Smith (Chris), and Austin Abrams (Ethan).

Euphoria season three premieres in April 2026, exclusively on HBO.
