Netflix has unveiled the first look at House of Guinness, Steven Knight’s latest historical drama, ahead of its release on September 25. The eight-part series explores the rise of the Guinness dynasty, a family whose fortune, influence, and excess would become as legendary as their famous stout.

Set in the 1860s, House of Guinness immediately follows the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the visionary who built the brewery into a global powerhouse. His death throws his four children into the spotlight: Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, who must navigate the weight of their inheritance.

Netflix revealed eleven striking photographs from the production, offering a glimpse into the world of the Anglo-Irish billionaires and their turbulent legacy. Among the newly released images are the Guinness siblings: Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air) is pictured as Arthur Guinness, heir to the brewing empire, while Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes), Emily Fairn (The Responder), and Fionn O’Shea (Normal People) stand with him as his siblings.

Meanwhile, James Norton (Happy Valley) appears as the enigmatic Sean Rafferty, a shadowy figure whose role in the dynasty’s story remains unclear.

The star-studded cast also includes Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones), Dervla Kirwan (True Detective: Night Country), Niamh McCormack (Everything Now), Danielle Galligan (Shadow and Bone), Ann Skelly (The Nevers), Seamus O’Hara (Blue Lights), Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones), David Wilmot (Station Eleven), Michael Colgan (Say Nothing), Jessica Reynolds (Kneecap), Hilda Fay (The Woman in the Wall) and Elizabeth Dulau (Andor).

Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders, continues his fascination with dynastic power and moral decay. “The Guinness dynasty is known the world over,” Knight told Tudum, “Wealth, poverty, power, influence and great tragedy are all intertwined to create a rich tapestry of material to draw from […] I’ve always been fascinated by their stories and am excited to bring the characters to life.”

While Netflix has yet to release a trailer, these first glimpses set the stage for a lavish, atmospheric period drama that blends opulence with unease, a hallmark of Knight’s storytelling.

In addition to penning the upcoming Peaky Blinders feature film The Immortal Man, as well as taking on the screenplay for the 26th James Bond film, Knight seems poised to deliver another richly layered saga of power, ambition, and the corrosive cost of empire.
