Sony has officially revealed two limited edition PlayStation 5 bundles for the highly anticipated Ghost of Yōtei, the upcoming samurai action title from Sucker Punch. Announced during the latest State of Play presentation, the bundles draw design inspiration from classic Japanese art forms — kintsugi and sumi-e — offering players a visually distinctive tribute to the game’s themes.
The Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition is modeled after kintsugi, the centuries-old Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. The console features a minimalist white chassis veined with delicate golden cracks and centered around a stylized depiction of Mount Yōtei, echoing the game’s themes of healing, resilience and transformation. The accompanying DualSense controller complements the look with matching gold accents and an etched silhouette of the protagonist, Atsu.

In contrast, the Ghost of Yōtei Black Limited Edition pays homage to sumi-e, a traditional Japanese ink brush painting technique. The console is adorned with sweeping black brushstrokes meant to evoke the windswept landscapes of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), while visually representing Atsu’s internal conflicts. The bundle also includes a matching black DualSense controller, echoing the console’s artistic flair.

Both bundles include a digital copy of Ghost of Yōtei (Standard Edition) and pre-order bonuses, including an exclusive in-game mask and seven PSN avatars featuring Atsu and the Yōtei Six. Each console is engraved with a PlayStation symbol seal, discreetly positioned on the top panel and controller shell.
The limited edition bundles and accessories will be available globally through select retailers and PlayStation Direct starting October 2. While the Gold Edition will be available widely, the Black Edition bundle will remain a PlayStation Direct exclusive outside of Japan, where it will also launch in limited physical stores — offering players a more brooding, mood-driven alternative.

For existing PS5 owners, Sony will release standalone console covers in both designs, compatible with PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro models. The Gold and Black DualSense controllers will also be sold separately. Pre-order details have yet to be announced, and stock is expected to be limited.
Blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern design, the Ghost of Yōtei consoles offer more than visual appeal — they underscore the game’s cultural roots and narrative depth, presenting a rare example of hardware aligned with artistic storytelling.
