Apple TV+ has released a new teaser for the highly anticipated second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, teasing a major clash between Godzilla, King Kong, and a new looming threat known only as ‘Titan X.’
The series is set within the Monsterverse, which consists of the global hit Godzilla and Kong films, and their various crossovers. It follows the shadowy organisation Monarch, which studies the ancient and destructive Titan creatures that have shaped human history. The series stars Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell as Lee Shaw, the man instrumental in Monarch’s creation, chronicling different stages of his life and examining how the past continues to shape the present.
Season two picks up with the fate of Monarch as the world hangs in the balance. The story uncovers long-buried secrets that draw heroes and villains alike back to Kong’s Skull Island, as well as to a newly discovered coastal settlement where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. As the consequences of past actions ripple into the present day, the lines between family, friends and foes begin to blur, with the threat of another Titan event looming ever closer.
Kong himself is a relatively new presence within Monarch, having made his first appearance in the final moments of the season one finale. He features prominently in the teaser, which hints at widespread destruction in the wake of the Titans as they clash on an unprecedented scale.
The teaser’s restrained use of music and imagery builds tension while suggesting the arrival of new dangers, most notably the mysterious Titan X. Though the creature remains largely hidden, its significance is underlined by the simultaneous presence of both Godzilla and Kong, signalling a threat unlike any the Monsterverse has seen before. The final shot shows a shark eclipsed by Titan X’s silhouette, signalling a threat that challenges the very laws of nature.
Alongside Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell, the cast includes Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm. Season two guest stars include Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper, and Camilo Jiménez Varón.
The 10-episode second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, 27 February 2026, with new episodes released weekly until 1 May. Season one is currently available to stream.
