After over a decade as one of TV’s most beloved sitcom characters on The Big Bang Theory, Kaley Cuoco seems to have found her new creative calling: mystery dramas. With the trailer released for the new MGM+ series, Vanished, she continues to expand into the genre of suspense, further solidifying herself as a compelling, versatile actress.

The trailer introduces us to Alice (Kaley Cuoco), a woman swept up in what seems to be a classic French romance, with her boyfriend Tom (Sam Claflin). The difference in their presence on screen immediately hints at something deeper beneath the surface, establishing the mystery. We see Alice wearing a soft yellow dress and a bow, signalling an open, happy woman in love. Tom, on the other hand, is in a suit and minimal dialogues, giving off a more restrained energy to the character.

The tension builds quickly when Tom mysteriously disappears, and leads us into the main plotline of the series. As Alice searches for her boyfriend, she begins to uncover stories and secrets about the man she loves, forcing her to face the uncomfortable fact that she may not know him at all. The quiet train ride that promises to be a romantic getaway suddenly turns into an unsettling journey, offering layers of danger and deception instead.

The premise seems familiar: missing lovers, hiding secrets, and possibly some sort of detective involvement. Despite this, the trailer provides enough intrigue to look forward to an engaging series. With romance being one of the central themes, viewers can expect all the emotions to hit hard as the mystery unravels harsh truths.

The trailer for Vanished is largely centered around Alice’s journey, suggesting she is the main driver of the story. Cuoco’s performance in the trailer alone shows strong potential for the series to be an entertaining, if not a wholly original watch.

Vanished premieres on 1 February 2026 on MGM+.
