A game based on the Marvel Comics character Blade has had its budget revealed after entering full production last year.
Marvel’s Blade, which was announced during the 2023 Game Awards, is being developed by French studio Arkane, known for games like Dishonored and Deathloop. The third-person action-adventure title will follow the half-vampire Eric “Blade” Brooks in a Paris quarantine zone as vampires attack the city.
In a report from the French National Assembly, a “new game by Arkane Studios” was mentioned. The report states that the game was “approved in 2023”, lining up with the announcement of the game, and has a budget of “more than 94 million euros”.
Prolific Wikipedia editor Timur222 noted that the game had entered full production following the release of Arkane’s 2024 financial statements, alongside the hiring of 190 new employees.
Bethesda Softworks, which acquired Arkane in 2010, are set to publish the game. While the game will be published on Windows and Xbox platforms due to Microsoft’s ownership of ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda, it is unknown whether it will be available on other platforms. Following an interview with Head of Gaming at Disney Sean Shoptaw, Axios reporter Stephen Totilo claimed that it was Bethesda’s decision whether or not the game would be an Xbox exclusive.
A release date for Marvel’s Blade has yet to be announced. More information on the game’s story and gameplay, along with development updates, can be found on the dedicated Marvel’s Blade page on the Bethesda Softworks website.
