Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Leads 2025 Game Awards Nominations

The nominees for The Game Awards 2025 have been announced. Appearing in a special broadcast, the nominations for all the categories for this year’s show were revealed by host Geoff Keighley

Leading the field with 12 nominations is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, making it the most nominated game in the history of The Game Awards, beating out previous record holders God of War: Ragnarok (2022) and The Last of Us: Part II (2020), who each had 11 nominations. Among those 12 nominations are three in the Best Performance category, with Ben Starr (Verso), Jennifer English (Maelle) and Charlie Cox (Gustave) nominated alongside Erika Ishii (Ghost of Yotei), Konatsu Kato(Silent Hill f) and Troy Baker (Indiana Jones and The Great Circle)

Also picking up multiple nominations were Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yotei with seven nominations each, Hades II with six nominations, Hollow Knight: Silksong with five nominations and Split Fiction with four nominations.

Battling it out to be named Game of the Year at this year’s ceremony will be Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades II, Hollow Knight: Silksong and Kingdom Come Deliverance II.

Voting is now open in all categories on The Game Awards website, with the ceremony scheduled to take place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on December 11. The nominees for the Player’s Voice Award will be announced on December 1.
