After three deliciously entertaining series, co-presenter Matt Lucas will be leaving the iconic Bake Off tent, while Alison Hammond takes his place. She’ll be presenting the hit show alongside actor and comedian, Noel Fielding.

Matt Lucas rose to fame for his roles in the award-winning sketch comedy series Little Britain. Since then, he has had success acting and presenting and became one of the hosts for The Great British Bake Off during series 11. He had many highlights, including getting his oven gloves out to be a last-minute replacement as a celebrity baker for the spin-off The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off. He started well, coming in first for his technical challenge. This year, will be Lucas putting away his apron to work on other projects. He will, however, continue to present Fantasy Football.

Now, GBBO is welcoming its newest presenter the lovable 48-year-old host from Birmingham Alison Hammond!

Alison first made her name as a contestant on Big Brother in 2002, but is more widly known as a presenter for ITV’s This Morning. She is known for her bubbly personality and her CV includes interviewing A-list celebrities like Hugh Jackman and Harrison Ford.

While she might be new to presenting The Great British Bake Off, this won’t be Alison Hammond’s first time in the Berkshire white tent. Back in 2020, she appeared in the celebrity special episode in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

In the charity show, Hammond came in extremely confident in her baking abilities. However, by the showstopper challenge her ‘Police Station Biscuit Scene’ was compared to a five-year-old’s handiwork by Paul Hollywood. She might not have won star baker, but she did win over the audience with her comical antics and chemistry with the judges. Channel 4 couldn’t have chosen a better presenter to join their ranks. No soggy bottoms here!

Series 14 is expected to air in September 2023. It will available to watch on Channel 4 or streamed on All 4
