IO Interactive are working on fixes for several technical issues in the Nintendo Switch 2 port of Hitman: World of Assassination, according to franchise director Jonathan Lacaille

World of Assassination – Signature Edition, which collects all three titles in the Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy as well as all post-release content, was released alongside the launch of the latest Nintendo console. While the port was praised for the wide range of content available, some critics noted issues with frame rate, particularly in the console’s docked mode, and issues with saving activity on-and-offline.

The trilogy was also made available on the original Switch console through a port of Hitman 3 that used cloud streaming to run the game. Signature Edition is a more traditional port, running on the Switch 2 hardware itself, which is potentially the reasoning behind the technical issues currently present in the game.

Lacaille told VGC that “the team is working on some of those performance issues right now, and they are addressing it over the summer”, while also discussing the studios next title 007: First Light, an action game featuring James Bond: “It’s, of course, good learning for us to bring to First Light as well – so all of this will be learnings we bring to the next title.”

The team at IO are also working on a new co-op mode for World of Assassination that is still in early development and will feature the characters Stone and Knight from the game’s Sniper mode.

007: First Light is set to launch next year on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Hitman: World of Assassination is available to purchase now, with the Signature Edition available exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
