Life-simulation hit InZOI is heading for warmer shores later this month, as KRAFTON and developer InZOI Studio announce the game’s first major expansion, Island Getaway, launching August 20 as a free update. The release will introduce a tropical dual-island map, new life-simulation systems, and over 90 additional music tracks — alongside the title’s long-awaited Mac debut, arriving the same day.

At the heart of Island Getaway is Cahaya, a Southeast Asia–inspired, sun-soaked destination split between a bustling main island and a smaller, resort-style retreat. Blending turquoise waters and lush greenery with rural charm and laid-back city life, Cahaya offers a setting that feels both adventurous and serene. Players can take their Zois swimming, boating and snorkeling, or unwind with tropical-themed outfits, new hairstyles, and island décor to customise their characters and environments.

Players can take their Zois for swimming, boating, and snorkeling, enjoying a range of leisure activities. The update also adds tropical-themed outfits, new hairstyles, and island décor options to help customise characters and environments. Players can dive into swimming, boating, and snorkeling activities, while tropical-themed outfits, new hairstyles, and island décor options provide fresh avenues for customising characters and environments.

Beyond its postcard-perfect setting, the expansion introduces gameplay-wide updates across all InZOI maps. Lifestyle-driven systems such as farming, mining, gem crafting, and fishing deepen daily simulation activities, while new rideable vehicles — including motorcycles and electric scooters — make exploration faster and more versatile. Character interactions have also been enriched with random gatherings, cooperative actions, and thought bubbles designed to foster more spontaneous storytelling.

The patch also rolls our further UI/UX refinements, early gamepad support (currently in testing), and an expanded soundtrack of more than 90 tracks to enhance the in-game atmosphere. The Mac version, launching the same day, arrives optimised for Apple silicon with MetalFX Upscaling, HDR, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing on M3 and M4 chips. It requires at least an M2-powered device with 16GB of unified memory.

“Cahaya was shaped by feedback from our players, going all the way back to Early Access launch earlier this year,” said Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim, CEO of InZOI Studio and Director of InZOI. “This DLC reflects a vision we’ve built together with our community. Developing a game in a new genre has been a real challenge, but the support we’ve received means everything to us — and we’re just getting started.”

Island Getaway will be showcased at Gamescom 2025 (August 20–24) in Cologne, with a trailer premiering during Opening Night Live on August 19 and hands-on demos available at KRAFTON’s booth. Ahead of release, the studio will livestream a community showcase, InZOI@Cahaya, on August 14 at 6:00 PM PT, featuring new gameplay and developer commentary, with fans encouraged to submit questions via the official Discord.

Since its Early Access launch in March 2025, InZOI has sold over one million copies in its first week — the fastest-selling KRAFTON-published title to date. Although concurrent Steam player counts have fallen from a launch peak of 87,377 to under 1,500, KRAFTON maintains that consistent sales are a more accurate measure of a primarily single-player game’s long-term success.

Often compared to The Sims, InZOI gives players a god-like role, allowing them to shape every aspect of their virtual worlds and their inhabitants. With Island Getaway, the studio isn’t just adding a scenic escape — it’s signaling the studio’s bigger ambitions to grow InZOI into a long-term franchise.
