As summer turns to autumn, this month’s gaming releases bring with them the long-awaited return of vault hunters, some haunting horrors from both a beloved franchise and a bleak future, the chance to make your mark on the pitch, an inner struggle in the apocalypse, and a once Princess named Hornet.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

The wait is over for the next chapter in the story. In Hollow Knight: Silksong, players will follow the story of Hornet, the former Princess of Hallowsnest, as she finds herself brought to the Kingdom of Pharloom, a land haunted by silk and songs. Stranded in this new land, Hornet will have to seek out allies to guide her path to the summit of the kingdom’s peak. But there is more to Pharloom that even Hornet knows, as some of the Kingdom’s ancient secrets are intertwined with her past and her very nature, and she must fight to survive if she has any hope of returning home.

Players with an active Xbox Game Pass subscription will be able to play the game at launch as part of their subscription.

Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 from September 4*

Using these portals takes you back to 1980s Poland during the Change – a cataclysmic event that altered humanity forever. While in the past, it is your job to locate certain people who initially perished and extract their Essence so you can bring them to the future. But this is only half the challenge, as the future is full of abominations and ever-present danger, where the dead don’t always stay dead for long.

Players who pre-order will receive bonus ammunition, a small Shell patch, bonus energy and the bonus Traveler skin. While uncovering the secrets of Kairos, players will encounter the Timekeeper, the ruthless dictator with a stranglehold on Kairos thanks to his army of synthetics, as well as all of the factions who are looking to take control of Kairos for themselves and stake their claim on the rumoured alien treasure hidden below the planet’s surface.
