A new Xbox update will make it clearer for users to see when played Game Pass titles will be leaving the service.

If a subscriber decides to play a game that will leave Game Pass soon, they will get a message stating when the game is being removed, and they can add it on their wishlist to be notified if it goes on sale, or comes back onto Game Pass. The message will also remind subscribers that Game Pass games can be purchased at a 20% discount.

PureXbox reported on the news, showing examples of the message. While they praised the feature as “a step in the right direction”, they also stated that more notice of what games are leaving would be ideal.

The purpose of the update is to prevent users from starting a game they won’t have time to finish, but also to encourage them to take advantage of the 20% discount.

Seven games will leave Game Pass after 15 November. These are Coffee Talk, Exapunks, Ghost Song, Gungrave GORE, Football Manager 2023, Lapin and Townscraper. More games will leave on 30 November, however, these are yet to be confirmed.

Persona 5 Tactica and Rollerdrome are set to be added this month, and more games are still to be confirmed.

An Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership costs £12.99 for one month, and includes more than 100 games. Subscribers can play these games for free until the game leaves the library, or they cancel their membership.
